Head-hunting - Getting your recruitment right

/>

Imagine that your best employee is literally snatched away, or in a stealthy "coup" you bring over your competitors best sale employee... Welcome to the world of Headhunting.

Headhunters are used almost exclusively for senior roles where it is nessercery for senior staff to use an introductory service. It is also common place that senior roles like CEO, or director are put to executive headhunters.

Using a Head-hunter service is not cheap. Fee's can be as high as 30% or more. Going cheap rarely pays off either.

What you need to know about Headhunters - for jobseekers

Not all headhunters are headhunters.

Somtimes it could be your boss checking how loyal you are... or even your competitor fishing for leads. If you're unsure suggest meeting up or getting thier contact details to contact them back on.

Some industries are very transferable and it's likely that you will need to use a headhunter service.

Not all exec recruitment companies will want to meet you to start off with. Do not get despondent if this is the case.
